Green Key, the Global ecolabel certification on sustainability for Tourism and Hospitality sector
Green Key, the Global ecolabel certification on sustainability for Tourism and Hospitality sector is all set to audit & certify the Accor hotels in India. This Audit is quite comprehensive in nature and covers a wide range of criteria ranging from the environment, energy, water, gas, carbon foot print, staff involvement, Guest information, waste and its reduction, food and beverage, indoor environment, green areas and green activities, corporate social responsibilities etc. All the Accor hotels in India has shown keen interest in the certification as a part of their positive commitment towards the the environment and its sustainable value for future. This Green Key audit would be an annual feature in the Accor hotels. This ecolabel certification has generated substantial interest among the employees of the Accor hotels. The National Operator of Green key India, Dr Jagat Mangaraj said that such hotels on Green Key certification will provide the hospitality services with a blended environmental value. The Green Key Audit will commence from December 2023. Besides Accor, the Radisson (RHG) and the IHG group too have an international agreement with the Green keyfor certification.
